Over the Bar Instruction

Kristy, who was homeschooled herself, holds a B.S. in education for grades K-8 from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she also minored in Bible, English, and Psychology. She taught in a traditional classroom for seven years, teaching seventh grade for five of those seven, and she achieved National Board Certification in 2006.

 

She has a strong passion for reading, writing, and critical thinking, and tries to inspire that passion in her students whether with The Potter's School teaching English 1 and 2 or in live English 1,2, and 3 classes she teaches in her local area. When not teaching, conferencing student writing, or developing grammar and composition curriculum, she spends time reading or listening to classic literature, particularly the works of Jane Austen and Shakespeare. She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she and her husband, Archie, homeschool their four boys.
